Youths  = Youth is the time of life between childhood and adulthood (maturity).

Human life style -  in General

Age between 15 years to 25 years   It is like a monkey
This particular age is very thrilling and adventures to youths. They will say I can do all things on MY OWN. All things are possible to me. I don’t need anybody’s help. I am all powerful. I can earn myself. I need not depend upon anybody.
If somebody’s tells them jump from the top of the building, they will do did They don’t have time to think or to reason. Whatsoever you say it is not Good – But for them it is Bad Whatsoever you say it is Bad -  But for them it is Good.
This is the state of their mind and behaviour. That is the reason why youths go astray at PARTICULAR  AGE  BETWEEN  15 years to 25 years.

Age between 25 years to 35 years  - It is like a Dog
This the particular age where the youths RUN EVERY WHERE
Run -  To the college to get admission, for 12th std after 10th std, for Degree, and post graduation.
Run - To get the job. Apply everywhere, Apply Apply No Reply,
Run – Once the Job is settled, Run to get their life partner. Search here  search there, date here date there

Age between 35 years to 60 years – It is like a Cow
Once he gets married, He is always busy in Building his Family,
Looking after children and wife. Slogging for them, earning for them, doing everything for the family without rest. He is like a COW which rarely lifts its Head. Always at work .

This is the Age between 60 years to 70+
When he reaches this age, he is hardly happy. Because his wife may not look after him, his children are away from him.  He is in the family  but left out, lonely. There is no body to bother him, even to offer him a cup of coffee. So he is frustrated, fed up, depressed, feeling sorry for his family.

Who are your Friends ???
YOUTHS MAKING FRIENDS AND COPING WITH PEER PRESSURE

It is no doubt that everybody needs friends but when you are young, friends can have more influence over how you dress, act, and think than your parents do. It has generally been said “show me your friend and I will tell you who you are”. If friends play such an important role in shaping especially the life of youths, the question that remains is, who then should be your friend? And to what extend should your life be influenced or shaped by their opinion?

This paper will attempt to answer the above questions. It will in the first part deal with some practical ways of making real friends and then look at how you can cope with pear pressure. In No Way is this an exhaustive treatment of the subject but it is intended to give you the opportunity to explore even further some of the implications of friends and peer pressure.

There are people who have a very difficult time making friends. Even those who are good at making friends need to be intentional in making real friends and know what the secrets of making them are. A proverb says “a friend is loving at all times and becomes a brother in times of trouble Prov. 17:17. There is more to friendship than having a shoulder to cry on. Friends must correct others even when it hurts. When a real friend sees you going the wrong way, he/she will try to warn you before its too late. Even if he knows you may not like what he/she says.

Would you allow a bruised ego to cause you to reject someone who has cared enough about you to tell you the truth? Prov. 27:6 says “there is more trust to be put in bruises from one who loves than in effusive kisses from one who hates. A person who thinks straight and talks straight is the kind of person you should want as a friend.

COUNTERFEIT VERSUS REAL FRIENDS
Not all friends bring out your best or are good friends. Many youths learn things from friends like, stealing, lies telling, smoking, drug, sex, etc. Once the influence of counterfeit friends has caused us to form certain habits it becomes difficult to give up or to break the habits. And sometimes the tendency is to continue to struggle and pray after we fail – often it would help if we pray beforehand asking God for strength when you feel the urge to do evil Prov. 13:20, says He that is walking with wise persons will become wise but he that is having dealings with the stupid ones will fare badly. If you keep friends with those who love God, you can avoid some of the ugly things in your life.

FINDING REAL FRIENDS
Where can you find friends who love God? Within the Christian congregation look for youths who not only make a profession of faith but have works to back their faith and devotion James 2:26. If such youths are difficult to find, get some Christians who are older than you. Age need not be a barrier to friendship.

HOW TO GET FRIENDSHIP STARTED
a).  Have an active interest in others: Jesus built friendship that were so strong that his friends were willing to die for him. Why? For one thing. He cared for people. He reached out and help others. He always wanted to be involved Matt. 8:3. Having an interest in others is the first step in making friends. Knowing the person’s name is a way of showing interest, sharing a meal together assisting someone with a need can serve to deepen a friendship.

b).  How you listen. Jesus words in Luke. 8:18 calls upon us to pay attention on how we listen. Though it refers to listening to the words of God, it provides us with a principle that applies well in developing relationships. Being a good listener is vital in building a friendship. It may require keeping an eye on the interest of others. Leading towards the person, ageing with the person, asking questions etc.

c).  Be loyal John 13:1. The main quality of a friend is his loyalty. Being able to stick with you when times get rough. Being able to defend or stand by your friend even when others say belittling things. Prov. 18:24.

d).  Share your feelings. Jesus endeared himself to others by revealing his deepest feelings. He let it be known that he “felt pity” “felt Love” or was deeply grieved” Matt. 9:36, 26:38, Mark 10:21, John 11:35. In one instance he even cried. This does not mean you pour out your emotions to everyone you meet but you can be honest with everyone, and as you get to know and trust someone, you can gradually reveal empathy. “fellow feelings” for others is essential for meaningful friendship. I Peter 3:8.

e).  Do not expect perfection. Even when a friendship is off to be a good start, don’t expect perfection because we all make mistakes in all kinds of ways. James 3:2. Know that friends costs – time and emotions. You have to be willing to give – you have your own feelings about things but you are willing to give in to make room for your friends feelings and opinion.

The cost of friendship is nothing compared to the cost of not loving; a life of empty loneliness. So make friends for yourself. Listen to and show genuine interest in others. Like Jesus you may then have numerous ones to whom you can say “you are my friends. John 15:14.

Warings and the symptoms- 6 signs and warnings

Hosea 6:1  Come, and let us return unto the LORD: for he hath torn, and he will heal us; he hath smitten, and he will bind us up.
Hosea6:2  After two days will he revive us: in the third day he will raise us up, and we shall live in his sight.
Hosea 6:3  Then shall we know, if we follow on to know the LORD: his going forth is prepared as the morning; and he shall come unto us as the rain, as the latter and former rain unto the earth.
God sends down a judgement against a people. He always sends a warning as in the case of Jonah, and the city of Nineveh.

Heb 2:1  Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them  slip.

I believe God sends us warning when we start drifting away from Him.
1. Loss of Focus
Your heart changes from the things of God to the things of this world.
- 1 Kings 11:1-4
- King Solomon has a problem, HE LOVED WOMEN
- He had to have more and more women
- He was Greedy. Greed and lust can turn your heart away from God quicker than a drug addict can be turned away with a pound of cocaine
1 John 2:15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

2. Loss of Priorities
You are more concerned about yourself than others, including God- Matthew 22:37-39
- In a world of self-serving and self-centeredness, the church must stand up and be different
- The world is looking for a change, looking for realness and a real devotion to each other
Matthew 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

3. Loss of Passion
You no longer have a passionate love for God or His word
- David not only had a passionate love for God, but also for his Word
- Psalms 119:11 “I will hide the word in my heart …”
- Do you remember when you were in love with God? Are you drifting away?
- You couldn’t put the Bible down
4. Loss of discipline
Your lifestyle becomes more sinful
- Ephesians 5:5
- Obviously, if we find ourselves sinning we know that something is wrong
- But Paul says something very interesting, LIVE BY THE SPIRIT
- You can’t live by the spirit if you far from the spirit

5. Loss of Commitment
Your church attendance becomes less important to you
- Hebrews 10:25
- The church should be a warm, friendly place where we can find friendship and encouragement
- Luke 4:16 Jesus regularly went to church on the Sabbath day

6. Loss of Emotions
You no longer respond to altar calls
- when you don’t respond to the calling of the Lord to get your life in order, there are signs that you have Pride in your life
- The Bible says that Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before the Fall
- When we do not respond to the Lord’s calling to us we say that we are fine without the Lord

Wake Up You Sleepth ??? – CAUTION – ALERT – WARNING
Ø  Mat 24:24  For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.
JUDGEMENT HAS ALREADY STARTED/COMING  upon the Body of Christ. Don’t be COOL AND RELAXING in the life of this world which is CARNAL.
Jas 4:4  Ye adulterers and adulteresses - Who have broken your faith with God, your rightful spouse. Know ye not that the friendship or love of the world - The desire of the flesh, the desire of the eye, and the pride of life, or courting the favour of worldly men, is enmity against God? Whosoever desireth to be a friend of the world - Whosoever seeks either the happiness or favour of it, does thereby constitute himself an enemy of God; and can he expect to obtain anything of him?

What is required of thee ??

2 Peter 3: 9
The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.
Ezekiel 33:11Say unto them, As I live, saith the Lord GOD, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die, O house of Israel?
Psalm 119:9Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed thereto according to thy word.\
Hebrews 11:6But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
Rev 2: 7He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God.
Romans 10:17So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
Ephesians 2:10For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.\
1 John 5:3If ye love me, keep my commandments
For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.
Revelation 22:14Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.
John 6:27Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you: for him hath God the Father sealed.
Philippians 2:12-15Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.  Do all things without murmurings and disputing:
That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world;    a-men

Final word to youths
Rom 13:11  And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed.

And do this - Fulfil the law of love in all the instances above mentioned. Knowing the season - Full of grace, but hasting away. That it is high time to awake out of sleep - How beautifully is the metaphor carried on! This life, a night; the resurrection, the day; the gospel shining on the heart, the dawn of this day; we are to awake out of sleep; to rise up and throw away our night - clothes, fit only for darkness, and put on new; and, being soldiers, we are to arm, and prepare for fight, who are encompassed with so many enemies. The day dawns when we receive faith, and then sleep gives place. Then it is time to rise, to arm, to walk, to work, lest sleep steal upon us again. Final salvation, glory, is nearer to us now, than when we first believed - It is continually advancing, flying forward upon the swiftest wings of time. And that which remains between the present hour and eternity is comparatively but a moment.

1Co 3:13  Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is.
The time is coming when every one's work shall be made manifest: for the day of the Lord, that great and final day, shall declare it - To all the world. For it is revealed - What faith beholds as so certain and so near is spoken of as already present. By fire; yea, the fire shall try every one's work, of what sort it is - The strict process of that day will try every man's doctrines, whether they come up to the scripture standard or not. Here is a plain allusion to the flaming light and consuming heat of the general conflagration. But the expression, when applied to the trying of doctrines, and consuming those that are wrong, is evidently figurative; because no material fire can have such an effect on what is of a moral nature. And therefore it is added, he who builds wood, hay, or stubble, shall be saved as through the fire - Or, as narrowly as a man escapes through the fire, when his house is all in flames about him.

It is Time to Surrender;
2Co 10:5  Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;
Destroying all vain reasonings, and every high thing which exalteth itself - As a wall or rampart. Against the knowledge of God, and bringing every thought - Or, rather, faculty of the mind. Into captivity to the obedience of Christ - Those evil reasonings are destroyed. The mind itself, being overcome and taken captive, lays down all authority of its own, and entirely gives itself up to perform, for the time to come, to Christ its conqueror the obedience of faith.

Rev 22:11  He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still.

Rev 22:12  And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.
